Roman blinds - stylish window covering

« Back to blog

The list of advantages of Roman blinds is long; it concerns both their functionality related to the effective protection of interiors against the sun, as well as the ability to blend in with interiors of various styles.

The uniqueness of this type of covers is hidden in the materials from which they are sewn - these are natural fabrics that can make the interior atmospheric and warm. Natural materials of not only window covers, but also furniture and accessories are a permanent element of architectural projects and this will not change in 2020.

Roman blinds, thanks to their fabrics, will be a very stylish complement to modern interiors, those dominated by minimalism; they will ensure that, despite a certain severity of the interior design, they will not be cold. There will be an atmosphere of harmony with nature and natural warmth. On the other hand, they will also work well in more classic designs, especially since the material from which they are sewn is identical to that used in curtains. So if we want to give up curtains, but at the same time retain their ability to create an atmospheric atmosphere in interiors, Roman blinds seem to be the perfect solution. In addition, they are also an ideal solution for shading windows in small rooms where we do not always have the option of using curtains that require a bit more space. The roller blind will fit into the window surface without taking up any space around it.

Roman blinds in practice
Roman blinds, like any of these types of covers (roller shutters, shutters), should be closely matched to the dimensions of the window. The Knall online store offers roller blinds that are sewn in our partner factories to the size individually specified by the customer. On the one hand, we have strict control over their quality because we work only with partners known for years; on the other hand, our customers can use the "Measurement" tab, in which we show how to correctly measure the window so that the Roman blind fits it correctly.

The materials of Roman blinds are natural fabrics, identical fabrics are used for curtains. They are characterized by a wide variety of colors, textures and thicknesses of fabrics. This allows you to match the cover to interiors designed in various styles and colors. It also allows you to adjust the roller shutter to the character of the room. And so, for example, in the living room or kitchen, there may be thinner blinds that allow sunlight to pass through, so that we can take full advantage of the sunlight while protecting the interior from higher temperatures. However, for rooms such as a bedroom, we can choose a thicker fabric that will block the sun, darken the interior and cool it down.

Models of Roman blinds
The types of Roman blinds models are related to the way of embedding muntin bars in them, i.e. special thin underwires, whose task is to support the blind fabric, so that it looks aesthetically both after rolling and unrolling the cover material.

Currently, the offer of the Knall store includes two models of Roman blinds: Model II with horizontal transparent tapes and round muntins and Model III, in which muntins are placed at the back. In both cases, due to the fact that the material is supported by the muntins, you can choose both thinner and thicker fabric. When opened, it will arrange itself nicely and evenly in the window space, and when rolled up, decorative folds will appear.
The difference between the models is that Model III is recommended for larger windows and large balcony and terrace windows.
