More »With a window to Scandinavia
Scandinavian-style interiors are characterized by simplicity, bright colors and functionality. This is one of the most popular styles in which we finish our houses and apartments. It is easy when at the design stage (when building a house or renovating) we use the help of a professional. But what if we want to change something without having to involve a specialist. Where to start so that the harmony of the Scandinavian style will slowly reign in our interiors?
The answer is simple. Let's start with the windows. Let's reveal them and give up heavy curtains and drapes. The Scandinavian style is primarily a lot of light. Let's uncover the windows, however, does not mean: let's leave them empty. Our windows must have screens; if only because of such prosaic things as protection against too intense sun and ensuring intimacy.
We can choose, for example, fabric blinds, day / night blinds, wooden and pleated blinds and, above all, Roman blinds. All this in white, beige or gray. The exception to gray will of course be wooden blinds. In addition, a Scandinavian-style window is also the use of a window sill. On the windowsills there are photo frames or minimalist graphics, colorful vases (shades of red and blue, pastels), as well as accessories made of wood, wicker or stone. If we have a large space and wide windowsills on which to sit, we can put blankets and / or pillows on them. The Scandinavian style is dominated by functionality, also when it comes to decorations placed on window sills.
