Window covers must fulfill two tasks: they should be functional and aesthetic. It's not easy at all, because it's often the case that something is nice but doesn't work very well, or it works great but ugly. Fortunately, when deciding on window decorations, we don't have to worry about it; all solutions, including Roman blinds, will successfully meet both tasks.

Let's start with functionality. The window cover is to protect the interior, for example, against excessive sunlight, against excessive temperature or against prying eyes from the outside. The undoubted advantage of Roman blinds is the possibility of using them not only for small but also large window surfaces. This is important because in many projects we observe the fashion for large windows that brighten and optically enlarge the space. Of course, this advantage is only available with custom-made roller shutters. Convenient chain mechanism allows you to roll up / unfold the fabric of the blind to any length. Another advantage is the choice of materials from which they are sewn. We can decide here whether the material will be smooth or decorated with a pattern, what will be its color and thickness. The latter, of course, determines the degree of light transmission, and thus also the adaptation to the type of room in which the blind will be hung (e.g. bedroom = completely darkened room; kitchen / living room = translucent or transparent fabric). The most important advantages include the ease of keeping Roman blinds clean - the fabric of the blinds is attached to special Velcro, it is enough to unfasten it and wash it.

And now about aesthetics. Undoubtedly, we start with the fact that Roman blinds are a great alternative to curtains and curtains. This is a compromise solution for those who do not like classic blinds, but also find curtains and curtains too overwhelming for the window space. Roman blinds are made of material, but integrated into the window, they do not dominate the interior space, but complement it elegantly and stylishly. The aforementioned rich palette of materials means that they act as curtains if we choose a more translucent material, or curtains if we choose one that does not let the light through. The aesthetics of Roman blinds is also based on the quality of the material from which they are sewn, so it is worth investing in those prepared to size. Good quality makes the material fit nicely, does not fold and does not stretch over time.
