More »On our blog, we happen to wander through the different parts of the world. In the end, we deal with window covers and the windows are a view of the world. Our blog wandering combine with the interior design and styles in which you can decorate them and how to choose window covers for them, so that all it was stylish.
We wandered through various places. Most recently, Scandinavia, which is known for its harmony with nature, naturalness and, despite appearances, warmth. Today is the time for beautiful Provence. A land of lavender and charming views. Holidays are slowly coming to a halt, and we want to stop them. Though only in interior decoration.
Characteristic features of the Provencal decoration
Interiors that are designed in this style are characterized by harmony. Often mistakenly associated with ubiquitous white. And here the surprise - Provencal interiors are certain colors. We set off on our journey to Provence.
Provence, located in the south - the eastern part of France, by the Mediterranean Sea is associated with the sun, holiday climate and relaxation. Provence is a stone house, which is built of light limestone, then (sometimes) colors in colors from light yellow to orange. An additional feature is attributed to rubbing with lime. The floors are made of beige stone or terracotta in red color. In the middle it is colorful, and the color inspiration comes from what you see outside the window, because the Provencal style is characterized by the delicate colors of nature.
In Poland, we are focused, of course, on the appearance of the interior. This style works best with larger space, but it can also be adapted to smaller apartments. The background is the above-mentioned color and floor material as well as bright walls (in shades of limestone stones). For this furniture, made of fruit or nut wood. They can be white, but often shades of yellow, green, blue, beige or gray appear here. The most characteristic are abrasions (roughening or milling) of color styling furniture for the older ones. In addition, sculptures can always appear in them in plant motifs: olive branches, lavender or vines. In the rooms, you can often see a combination of different styles; chairs and beds in wrought-iron bedrooms, in living rooms, comfortable couches covered with sofas. Large mirrors covered with patina on the walls. Bathrooms with ceramic tiles and structural plaster in areas not exposed to contact with water. Bright furniture and unbuilt fittings; a bathtub standing on decorative stools.
Provencal style is space and light, but also works well on a smaller area; visually enlarge it and expand. You just need to be careful not to overdo it and do not create a overloaded Provence caricature. Minimalistic forms of furniture that relate to the style, such as delicate ornamentation, will work here. Additives in the form of characteristic textiles, designs and decorative details.
When it comes to the window cover, it is best to use those that are made of natural materials, so Roman blinds or Wooden blinds. In both cases, in the Knall online store, we choose a palette of bright colors: beige and whites so characteristic of the Provencal style. Alternatively, you can also consider buying fabric blinds.
Complementing the appearance of the rooms
The interior design complements additions most commonly made of clay, ceramics, metal, glass. Textiles are cotton and linen, with thick weave, often kreton and żakard. On materials (tablecloths, pillow cases, etc.), ornamental decorative motifs - lavender flowers, vines and olives - often appear, like on furniture. The colors are kept in warm, pastel colors. Especially characteristic is quilted in the patterns of kapa (boutis). As decorative accessories simply used objects used every day: household ceramics, jugs, bowls and chests. The dot over "and" are fresh flowers and dried buds of herbs.
The Provencal style primarily refers to nature, its colors and aromas. It brings simple pleasures - good food and wine drunk in the company of friends. Can there be something better?
